Social media giants must own their role in amplifying misinformation that fuels hate gangs. Engagement algorithms often prioritise inflammatory content over truth, turning digital falsehoods into real-world violence. We need transparent moderation and swift action.

I live/work beside this building - derelict since 2009. The people hounding the new business owners don't even live here. Those complaining about "foreign food" have no issue with the Indian, Chinese takeaways or Turkish/Kurdish barbers lining the Shankill. They're just racist cunts.

Search engines developed complex anti-spam systems over decades, a constant arms races with #spammers. Now, companies are deliberately creating content designed to be scraped rather than read by humans. Instead of fighting it #AI companies are letting it poison their training data.
Usage jumped 27-43% after the redesign, that's because they made it slightly less obstructive, not because people suddenly wanted an AI assistant hovering over their spreadsheets. We're being sold "productivity" when what we're getting is constant interruption dressed up as innovation.
