Mayor Frey can thank Minneapolis Public Housing Authority & affiliated nonprofit Community Housing Resources for 43 filings yesterday.
Significant bump in Mpls filings the past few days.
Approximate* Minneapolis eviction filings 3/1 thru 3/11:
2025: ~54
2026: ~237
A 339% increase compared to 2025.
Hear directly from Aliya Rahman, who was brutally pulled from her car and assaulted by ICE on her way to a doctor’s appointment, on the importance of extending the pre-eviction notice to 60 days. We are proud to have passed this policy today and are calling on Mayor Frey to sign it immediately.
Another addition to the website to help us built *systems* and not just have me trying to do everything alone:
If you'd like to adopt a rent that you can either *cover immediately* and fundraise for, or just pay outright, please fill out this form and we will contact you via Signal.

Situation resolved. For folks in the area, it’s safe to return. There’s still a large law enforcement presence as they continue to process the scene.
I'm tracking the situation on 28th and Nicollet as the Sheriff’s Office was executing a search warrant.
Access points are closed while law enforcement secure the scene. First responders are asking the public to avoid the area for the safety of the public and first responders.
There’s nothing about Council Member Chughtai’s work on Uptown Safety Ambassadors and construction hardship program that she authored (Mayor Frey has not implemented).
Nor her work on the Rise Up Center and other Uptown programs she authored. Any reason why only one council member was mentioned?
Abolish ICE.
There’s no reforming it.
There’s no compromise.
There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.
