With Cid making such good progress & not going back to his colony, he’s taking up the space I had planned to use for Kickstand, which leaves me looking for someone who wants to foster Kicks (or Cid!) He needs someone experienced socializing shy cats, preferably close to Newark, DE.

Another reminder to keep a cheap leash in your car for lost dog encounters. Found this very sweet girl wandering a parking lot next to a busy road. She is now on her way to our local (no kill) shelter. Hopefully she’ll find her people!!

This sweet girl is Shoyu. Shoyu came to us a full YEAR ago, found outside with her two kittens. She’d clearly never been around people before and was completely terrified, but not aggressive. The area she was found in was unsafe to return to for TNR so we decided to give socialization a try. 🧵
I successfully trapped our wobbly gas station boy, Kickstand. We strongly suspect he has cerebellar hypoplasia, a non-degenerative condition that affects his balance and coordination. We’re going to get him fixed and then see if he would like to transition to being a friendly guy.

Let this be your sign to buy a cheap leash and just keep it in your car. This sweet girl ran up the on ramp onto a major highway. She wasn’t letting anyone get near her but thanks to a bunch of kind people who stopped, we were able to corral her and get my leash looped around her neck (no collar.)
