Hard to argue against this. Joyal is an extremely thoughtful, sharp jurist with expertise in constitutional and criminal law, and tremendous experience on the bench and judicial administration to boot.

Writing mathematics is a highly iterative process for me, and one that requires me to think and re-think, to refine my understanding as I refine the mathematical results and the proofs of them.
While the process can start with an idea, mathematical proofs demand these ideas be tested and tempered.
There is a real affordability crisis in Vancouver (and elsewhere). Housing is a major driver, but alongside high food prices and other essential living costs, it has pushed the living wage to a level that too few people can earn.
The affordability crisis won't be solved by optimism alone.
