May 1813, the heavy frigate USS Chesapeake faced the frigate HMS Active and the brig HMS Zenobia. The Yankee had been raiding in the Mona Passage when Royal Navy cruisers from Antigua caught up with her. The USS Chesapeake, my first 1/700 ship, is finished. She's done up as she appeared when she sailed out to meet the HMS Shannon in 1813. She now awaits a base so she can sail onto the gaming table. Glad I stuck it out with the running rigging. #spreadthelard #thefullnelson #navalwargaming.
