I discovered today that a journal published the low-res versions of graphs that were embedded in the submitted .docx file - despite me spotting the problem during proofs and a providing hi-res versions.

I think, in the end, that the various Reasons people give for why it's good and fine that they are very aggro on this here internet and actually this is upholding the true and the good and the beautiful are always a bit less persuasive than: no you're not, you're just being weirdly mean, stop it.
