All Joy reminds. It is never a possession, always a desire for something longer ago or further away or still 'about to be'.
Tonight’s finale of #TheLateShow with #Colbert reminded me of this quote from CS Lewis. That Joy is ephemeral, always fleeting and something we always pursue.
We all must have hearts that sow constantly seeds in our lives, and the life’s of others, where someday joy may take root and be reaped… and hopefully shared. Joy is, of course, the repellent to that which wants to rob the world of it.
So, we must all remember! Firmly! Defiantly! This moment where #StephenColbert stood. Not with anger, nor sadness or grief, but at a place where he could remind us that joy, kindness, love. These we can give freely and they can’t be taken from us. Love your neighbor, and laugh with them too.
