I dug up some Rolemaster for this exercise and came to the conclusion that $1 in GURPS is worth about 1.03 cp. RM currency may be excessively complex (because Rolemaster), but at least it's decimal.
There's already a GURPS Conan, and it's quite good (major influence on HOT SPOTS: THE SILK ROAD), so...maybe Ben Bova's Star Watchman books? I enjoyed them at the time, but there's clearly not enough to base a whole game on, so good for a curse.
