I don't know if this strategy was the accidental result of an idealistic guy trying to do the right thing or a clever plan to distract. (@anniefryman.bsky.social knows.) Either way, it worked out well! Wealthy, job-rich cities like #BeverlyHills are finally having to allow homes for their workers.

This week, the Mayor proposed a broad re-zoning of SF to allow the homes we desperately need to end our housing shortage — the core cause of high housing costs. This grows out of a state law I passed to require cities to zone for more homes (SB 828). It’s a big step. We need to get this done.
