Thomas Hart Benton, American (1889-1975), June Morning, 1945, oil on Masonite, 106.7 x 122 cm, private collection
Came across an interesting rose mutation in the back corners of Boise County. Not only were these a very interesting color, they were very big, for wild roses. The roses on either side were standard, maybe slightly more pink than usual. Obviously, I didn’t harvest any of these.

It’s 6am I’ve been up all night I’m exhausted but my stupid asthma won’t let me sleep. Apparently we’re under a tornado watch too, and I need to speak to God right now because the whole point of living in this god-spurned hellscape that is the Appalachian mountains is not having to deal with wind.
