We are the quiet unnoticed Heron, inspiring Heroneers all over Planet Earth, as you encounter Heronkind for 1st or 1000th time.

Herons never fear being overlooked in the Big Landscape. They know they'll always catch the Heroneer's eye 💙
Fascinating to see a comparison of the Welsh Western Reef Heron with a cooperative Grey Heron.
Wonder what the Grey thinks of this usual Heronbeing and the attention it is attracting?!
Now... If a gathering of Herons is a Siege, what do you call a gathering of Heroneers?!
No fish shall pass!

A Heron makes your day 💙
A Great Egret flying over the Great Blue Heron rookery. Interestingly, there was a Great Egret doing a courtship dance in one of the nests last week. When I started visiting the rookery 10 years ago there were many Great Egret nests along with the Great Blue Heron nests.
It's a bit windy out... But the Egret will remain steadfast and calm, even if its feathers can't.
It must smell divine up there. L'eau de Poop. 😬
(The Pacific Great Blue is a subspecies of Great Blue that differs from the common in its restricted geographical range - it never migrates from the US northwest, and it's darker blue grey plumage and smaller body size.) 1/2
Subspecies was identified and named 1901 `Ardea herodias 'fannini' after John Fannin first curator of the BC Museum. Here with friend. 2/2

Find the 5 herons from our walk across the Squamscott River last night! #ExeterNH
That Great Blue Heron is a good clue that this lake is very shallow! Either that or that it can walk on water.... #birds #birding #heron @everyheron.bsky.social
I had to do it.
Western Reef Heron, Caernarfon ✅️
Boom.
today's a lucky day for me, a Yellow-crowned Night Heron landed in my backyard. I've probably seen them around from afar but never recorded one, new lifer for me on the bird app.
Very pretty plumage!

Seen June 2, 2026, at the first nest in a new rookery, three Pacific Great Blue Heron nestlings do some stretching, and one shows how the nest got so white! #birds #photography #ECK @everyheron.bsky.social
