A program focused on improving safety in areas where speeding and road safety issues have been identified.
If we can't have red light or speed cameras, and we can't have other types of law enforcement, then we need really great infrastructure that keeps everyone, including people in cars, safe from drivers who break the law.

#yeg needs Safe Mobility funding — but not a blank cheque.
10 years into #visionzero, deaths and serious injuries are rising much faster than traffic volumes. Council should fund safety, but demand data, better standards, stronger enforcement, and accountability.

I’m down with this sentiment.
It is always funny to see drivers argue that construction and congestion are excuses for unsafe driving, like speeding and running red lights.
Maybe people with such poor emotional regulation should not be driving 2000+ lb vehicles if that is how they take out their frustrations? #yegbike #yeg
From speed surveys:
- 106 St N of Whitemud Dr, compliance with 50kmh speed limits was between 10.3-4.4%(!).
- 106 St N of 31 Av, apprx 86% of vehicles exceeded the 30km/hr limit
- 82-87% of over 40kmh limit on 109 St N of 19 Av
Proper, protected bike infra is loong overdue here.
