I suppose with the benefit of hindsight, it makes sense that a country prone to weird laws about knives and swords might be persuaded to go after a minority group whose members sometimes carry a little knife around.
I genuinely struggle with the logic behind some UK weapons laws. It's not super rare for *gun* laws to be internally incoherent, but at least a gun - being both deadly and relatively hard to come by - is a logical thing to want to regulate.
