The whole world needs a functional California Democratic party, which prefers channeling our justified outrage into effectiveness and state capacity, rather than performative stunts.

California is vitally important for the success of the American project because when our state is the standard bearer for Democratic Party governance. If we can't solve basic problems like moving people in-and-out of Los Angeles, the rest of the country assumes that no Democrats can.
