Onwards and upwards! šŸ’ŖšŸ”¬ research fuels scientific progress and innovation, so grateful to the Andy Hill CARE Fund in recognizing this 😊
Dr. Peter Ch’en, MD, MPH šŸŽ“šŸ©ŗ Thank you @einsteinmededu.bsky.social for the experience of a lifetime - I’ll keep the lessons from the BX close. Catch me as a dermatologist *soon*! Back to Seattle @uwdermatology.bsky.social I go. To my community who kept me going - we did this together. Thank you.
Get those blood tests (AMERK and ctDNA) going for MCC patients! Super helpful for surveillance and early recurrence detection, and provides a lot of peace of mind for both patients and clinicians. @mc3-institute.bsky.social @paulnghiem.bsky.social @lachancekrista.bsky.social

Merkel Cell Carcinoma Collaborative (MC3) Institute
Proud to share the #NghiemLab & #MC3Institute received a $1.3m grant from the Andy Hill Cancer Research Endowment #CAREFund to support 2 projects focused on advancing Merkel cell carcinoma #MCC research. šŸ”— mc3institute.uw.edu/news/nghiem-lab-mc3-institute-awarded-1.3-million-cancer-research
In this cohort study of Merkel cell #carcinoma patients, a falling or negative titer indicated a 99.3% chance of remaining recurrence-free over 3 months, while a rising oncoprotein antibody titer suggested a 58% risk of recurrence by 12 months. ja.ma/4rifJeA
