Bumblebee going to town on a Devil’s Tomato (or horsenettle) plant. A devil’s tomato is a lot like a garden tomato, except a devil’s tomato hates you and wants you to die. So naturally I’m encouraging them to grow in my yard.
“Rent lowering” except you’re growing extremely poisonous native plants like horsenettle, pokeweed, and bloodroot.
I just realized that this year will be the fourth generation of tomato plants grown from seeds I originally got in 2022. Every year I take care of the next iteration of these plants, and they take care of me with nourishment. We've become a part of each other.
