The Dáil has voted 78 to 68 to defeat a bid from opposition parties to prevent the use of counselling notes in sexual assault prosecutions. Justice minister Jim O’Callaghan said his legal advice was that counsellors’ notes should be available, and that they can be of value in securing a prosecution.
Dáil Reform committee is meeting this afternoon, with PQ overload on the agenda - Labour Party whip Duncan Smith says he’ll be proposing an outright ban on AI-generated questions (though admitting it can be hard to identify exactly which ones they might be)
