The current Govt is actively choosing not to end it, but to expand it further in even more escalated anti-immigration rhetoric and escalations through actual policy.
But it will never be possible to satisfy the far right.
This is probably the exact reason why the people who bought TikTok in the US wanted it. Same for Twitter. I can't say I find it inexplicable at all.
