We've published a new article Ahead of Print in 'Plant Perspectives', being review by Luiza Teixeira-Costa on V. Aresheva and C. Morette's exhibition 'Science/Fiction: A Non-History of Plants' at Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; #openaccess here: www.doi.org/10.3197/WHPP... #plantstudies
I'm not a professor, but something similar recently happened to me.
A conference abstract I did write was entirely rephrased and assigned a full reference, including DOI, pages, and the name of a real journal. On journal website, which is from a different field btw, my "article" is or course absent.
A network of fake academic journals masquerading as legitimate publications has published more than a hundred AI-generated papers in recent months, in some cases using the names of real professors at top universities without their knowledge.
