I've only been to Scarborough the once. A weird couple stopped me and my wife in the street and attempted to get us to go back to their B&B with them for a *very* thinly-veiled sex party.

Just thinking about Scarborough celebrating its 400th year as a seaside resort/tourist destination - Britain's first.
People were a lot smaller in the past though, weren't they? So the sea would have -relatively- been much deeper. It must have been quite dangerous because of that is what I'm saying.
