Another tough day of operation due to challenging WX conditions. Due to missing up-to-date WX SAT IMG when airborne at flight level 185, we decided to abort the mission when in fact the TGT area we had vacated unexpectedly cleared for another good hour!
ARES is getting ready for another methane sortie. Skies are CAVOK ☀️!
Highly dynamic WX situation this morning. Westerly winds at FL180 are FCST 40 kts. Lower clouds are pushed rapidly along. Possible clear WX is around 2-3 hrs away -> aiming to be on station at 0700 Z.
ARES is preparing for XFER to BUL on a Y (YANKEE) FLT plan, i.e. DEP IFR, LDG VFR 😎
