Been at the Cambridge Dragonboat Festival today rowing to raise funds for the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital. Brilliant fun with amazing colleagues from the project team. Any support vastly (and personally) appreciated: orlo.uk/jhQr6
And thanks in anticipation. X

@nkca-natcan.bsky.social How weird is it that I’ve never been offered a Cancer Care Review? I was diagnosed nearly 24 years ago and have had numerous hiccups and diagnoses for mets over the years. Not once has my GP offered a CCR.
How terrifying and tragic. Especially for people like me who have cancer, but really, horrifying for everyone.
NIH scientists have a cancer breakthrough. Layoffs are delaying it.

‘Appendix B’ is a get-out clause allowing Network Rail to avoid providing accessibility in the vast majority of station refurbs. If there’s a step-free station within 50 km (!!) they only have to create ‘passive provision’ for lifts to be fitted in the future. I think we know how that’ll work out.
Brilliant work, Julian.
Clearly, ‘Passive provision’ is NO provision. There is SO much wrong with this Appendix B. It’s okay to ask a person who can’t use steps to travel up to 50km to a station that’s accessible. How?? On a train? Erm, no. On our brilliant and joined-up bus services? Nope.
Oh dear.
