📢 A fantastic 3 days at #EISAGM26 and a real pleasure to join the EIS ULA delegation this year representing the Higher Education sector, from which every delegate this year rose to speak to a variety of motions across the 3 days. 🎤 Outstanding 👏🏼👏🏼
Nuzhat Uthmani seconding the motion says, "The far right is becoming or even has become mainstream and it's going to become far more challenging to tackle that rise, especially within our classrooms."
The motion is carried by delegates.
Nicola Fisher says "The far right are a clear and present danger to the children in our care who we educate. They are a clear and present danger to our communities and society." #EISAGM26
Following a shout from the floor the motion is remitted to Council. We move swiftly on to our final motion of #EISAGM26 which is being moved by Nicola Fisher.
As part of celebrating Refugee Week 2026 the EIS will be sending a copy of our 'Mochara Goes to Nursery' resource to every local authority funded nursery in Scotland next week.

Motion 68 is moved by Neil Anderson and seconded by Andrew Fullwood. Craig Duffy, opposing the motion says, my point of opposition is purely because of what the mover said. It is a small organisation I haven't heard of. I don't know enough to see if we can or should affiliate to them.
That concludes our #EISAGM26, a huge thank you to all our delegats, the staff at the Caird Hall and EIS staff.
That concludes #EISAGM26! Thank you to everyone who attended.
