Professional sports are rife with religiously enhanced bigotry. It's the nature of the beast, when the pipelines are through religious private high schools in conservative regions of the country. We need to provide mechanisms for diverse thought at that level.

Writing anti-LGBTQ Bible verses on Pride Night isn't an act of courage. It's a calculated attempt to undermine a message of inclusion while pretending to be persecuted for receiving criticism.
Criticism isn't persecution, and MLB uniform rules aren't government censorship.
Christians on the Giants' pitching staff opposed the team's "Pride Night," so they wrote Bible verses on their rainbow caps.
MLB says they broke the rules... but there are no consequences.
It's a debacle for everyone involved.
