I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this, or if there are studies completed or in process that confirm there’s an effect on cognition or burnout symptoms.
I don’t know if anyone has talked about this, but it’s a thing I’m experiencing. I shared when I came back a few weeks ago that I’ve been deep in autistic burnout for a year. I also have a litany of other health issues and for preventative and treatment measures, I started taking a GLP1.
I’m hesitant to say definitively the GLP1 is the cause, because I also am on a supportive supplement and my diet changed rapidly because of palette and satiety shifts. Maybe the supplement is the true cause, or something else.
This is merely anecdotal, but there’s a correlation to my taking this medication and a decided difference in my cognitive functioning since I started. It’s like a switch flipped and my brain and body are finally cooperative again in a way they haven’t been in ages.
To be clear, I’m not taking this medication with the goal of losing weight, just for health purposes, and it was recommended by two doctors. It would also be a lie to say I’m not losing weight, so I wouldn’t recommend this medication to someone who doesn’t meet the clinical criteria.
