Extracellular environment stabilization of stem cell state identity via KDM3A👇🔥
Beautiful work
This new method, BLISS, to detect single molecule fluorescent bursts revealed the “hyperdynamic” fraction of HP1a we previously observed in pluripotent stem cells. Check it out👇🔬🔥
Check out this new Review Article in TiG by the amazing Elad Dvir, a joint student of the Shifman and Meshorer labs👇👇

And today Shalhevet’s Flashtalk about SCA3 concluded our lab’s presentations. Kudos everyone!⚡️🧬🔬
Are PolyQ Inclusion Bodies detrimental or protective in Huntington’s Disease? The amazing Walaa Oweis in my lab shows they are protective in human iPSC-derived neurons, confirming Finkbeiner’s observation in rodents. She further found that ATF3 is required for their formation.

Why do pathogenic variants in the same gene lead to different neurodevelopmental outcomes?
Our Trends in Genetics review discusses how variant effects, genetic background, environment, and developmental noise may all contribute.

Surprised to discover that Thermo Fisher appears to show a fake western blot for the validation of one of their p53 antibodies. I've added a diagram to show the very similar bands. This does not appear to be one of the "published figures" but their own internal data.
