Heartbroken. One of my all-time favorite musicians passed, Sonny Rollins. Took a chance and asked him to sign my 1958 Don Newcombe card last month. He got the nickname from Miles Davis for his resemblance to Newcombe. So glad I got to see him on concert.
First Wilbur Wood and now Mickey Lolich. My favorite pitchers from childhood are no longer with us in a short period of time. We all know Mickey's accomplishments in the 1968 World Series. Kids in the Detroit area had these posters hanging in our walls in the late 60s and early 70s.
RIP Ryne Sandberg. To this day wish his Cubs would've faced my Detroit Tigers in the 1984 World Series. Never heard anyone say a bad thing about him.
