You may well be right. I’m only inclined to cut him slack because I could see someone growing up in an immigrant neighborhood lacking the cultural competence. But OTOH, there’s a history of racism in immigrant neighborhoods too.
In recent years I’ve only been to the refinery for a protest, so I haven’t seen that side of Whiting.
