I was raised very liberal and Reform, for a multitude of reasons related to the community, what mom grew up with, and what she didn't want us to grow up with.
But it still came down to how we wanted to celebrate and nuture our heritage and faith. NEVER about sacrificing any of that
It’s the same logic as people brushing off Trump mocking a disabled person or the “grab ’em by the pussy” tape because they liked the alternative better.
At some point, you’re not opposing hate.
You’re just negotiating how much of it you’re willing to tolerate.
I'll try and be patient and see how this continues to unfold.
But I won't be optimistic right now
Doesn't matter how many individuals try to use "epstein class" in some level of good faith.
This eventually turns into the latest "Evil Jew Cabal" conspiracy that targets all Jews for future harm.
So yeah, maybe I have to keep speaking.
And maybe the party IS too much of a nazi bar now
Liberal American Jews have been taught about the tragedy of the I/P conflict and the humanity of Palestinians our entire lives. It's a major cultural topic.
if you think the removal of Jewish personhood is required for Palestinian liberty, you are weaker than the most milquetoast liberal Zionist.
Not every instance of "Epstein Class" is antisemitic at this moment
But look, it's quite easy to find the ones that are. Because that's how many of them are in the ecosystem already
And the standard procedure is for the term to increasingly be used for antisemitism, until it becomes the only use
And at this point, if you are insisting there is no antisemitic use of the term? That just means we shouldn't be trusting you
