I'm a bit curious how a "staggered" implementation of ETIAS will work.
EES is basically a *once inside the EU* process. But ETIAS is a *while you are still outside the EU* process involving staff at non-EU airports. Will they stagger implementation of ETIAS by non-EU departure airport?
@britishineurope.bsky.social I can already foresee carrier confusions if at this stage - with just a few months to go before staggered ETIAS launch - staff at airlines haven't been educated by management of the fundamental basics.
I def think SMG as Natla could be a possibility.

No spoilers til next weekend, but I will say this:
Arrival, Contact, and Interstellar remain my top 3 in this #scifi category.
So I just asked a Eurowings check-in staff if they are responsible as a carrier for pre-boarding checks when ETIAS is introduced. They said no.
I do hope airlines educate their staff in time.
