I dig (haha) the opening and the finale on the lake, but I wish the whole movie had taken place during one night, maybe even in real time.
Loving the theories about OBSESSION, especially the idea it’s a metaphor for AI. So perfect. Anytime anyone promotes AI, I’ll think of Nikki.
Speaking of, the practical effects in OBSESSION are wonderful. “Obsession staged one of its most disturbing moments using practical effects, including jelly-like glass, fake blood, a shaken car, and a doll stand-in.” www.indiatoday.in/movies/holly...
Definitely feeling this. When using CGI, please use with practical effects, too. Nothing beats the T-Rex in Jurassic Park to this very day. animost.com/ideas-inspir...
Tonight’s movie. One of my faves.
Now watching.
Although I find it “unbelievable” the poor cat willingly consumes pills (ever try to give a cat a pill? and also how he disposes of the remains), I love that the cat is symbolic of how Bear doesn’t want to put in the work to really know love. “Want easy love?” his friend should say, “Get a dog.”
Just had such a great discovery in my work-in-progress. Love that part of the process. Trust the work to show you the way.
51 years ago today the world changed. One of the most technically accomplished, commercially successful and culturally relevant movies ever made was released. That movie was #JAWS.
Great points here: www.rogerebert.com/features/obs...
