Re-upping this story this morning.
A landmark Superior Court case in Kitchener recognized the Charter Rights of homeless people. Doug Ford has threatened to reverse that.
I spoke to the people impacted the most by this, the encampment residents.
Please read and share this one widely.
Today Ken Sim and ABC rejected a plan to make the roads safer.

Shameful
Because Twitter is bad and has tech issues, Lucy is live skeeting the speaker order
This is odd. Why are advertising the DTES as a Mexican barrio to FIFA visitors?
NEW from City Hall: The motion from Councillor @seanorr.bsky.social on getting a low-income transit pass has passed unanimously.
Ken Sim (Feb 25 2025): "i think transparency is incredibly important. this is something that shouldnt be feared. we talk about transparency all the time. if we support transparency, I think we support it everywhere. you cant pick and choose."
Yesterday I brought a resolution to tell the federal government regulate super bright LED headlights at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in Edmonton. Local governments across our country agreed to improve road safety for many people with visual impairments and all road users. It passed.

If a judge who's ex-military can recognize that homeless people have rights, why not Ontario's premier?
What Doug Ford should know about encampment residents:

BREAKING: Mayor Ken Sim's ABC majority voted not to reduce speed limits on major roads, despite 93% of all road fatalities in Vancouver happening on arterials. This was one of the most important Near-Term Actions in the entire plan, because roads will never be safe until people drive at safe speeds.
This will go down as one of the most shameful votes from ABC during their term.
All of the councilors in favour of Peter Meiszner's amendment will have blood on their hands.
Shame!
We’re currently hearing from Speaker 24 of 48.
Minister Anne Kang was not available for an interview Tuesday, but her ministry said addressing public safety is a shared priority.
Update: ABC voted down this motion for accountability without even bothering to explain their reasoning.
They knew they couldn't debate it on the merits, so they silently voted against.
