It will also be a bit more politically themed than my earlier books, and the characters even more morally grey. I'm close to deciding on the cover and the title, but alas the editing will still take some time. With a bit of luck, I can publish it before the ninth month is through 🤞
To keep the setting fresh, it will take place several hundred years after the original trilogy, with entirely new characters, more advanced technology, and lots more ✨magic✨.
Word of the week: Plangent.
Definition: (of a sound) loud and resonant, with a mournful tone.
One of those words you never use in everyday life and learn from some random book you read. Sounds a bit too much like the word "Pungent" to me though, don't think I'll ever use it 😂
Word of the week: Contronym
This is a word that means the opposite of itself, depending on the context. Such as dust (to remove/add dust), sanction (approve something or impose a penalty) and overlook (miss something/keep an overview)
Not a word I'd ever use, but that makes it no less interesting!
That said, you can definitely make monsters without dndbeyond, with a little bit of research. I had a blast making this, and would definitely recommend trying it out to any author or artist who plays D&D. For me it was definitely worth the time invested.

Hey everyone, today I thought I'd share a quick progress update for my next book 📖! The title is yet to be revealed, but it will be the first book of a planned duology, and set in the same exotic empire as the earlier Ankuan Trilogy.

"I have polarizing thoughts regarding the book as a unit."

I personally used the website of @dndbeyond to make this, under homebrew monsters. DnDBeyond is the official digital toolset and game companion for D&D where you can create and track your characters, the rules, and any homebrew (self-made) monsters or items.
And now for something completely different (iykyk) I've decided to share something related to one of my other hobbies: Dungeons & Dragons! I've done the #D&DProtagonistChallenge, where I turn the main character of one of my books into a D&D encounter (called a monster, though it can also be a human)
