Remember when the Republicans were all like, "AOC's Green New Deal is gonna make it so you can't have hamburgers!"
And now, their policy is, "You should be grateful that ground beef is 300% more expensive!"
This is also why I think Dems need to be more clear-eyed around stopping grift. From supplements, to MLMs, to crypto/memecoins and stocks, all of this stuff fuels the extreme rightwing while also taking advantage of Americans.

Wish that a single journalist in this country would bring Scott Pelley's attitude-towards-management to conversations like this.
This is patently idiotic on multiple levels. Prediction markets aren't an innovation - it's gambling. Making Congressional betting "subject to a blind trust" is nonsense.
In a functional country, this open idiocy would itself be a scandal but instead this is par for the course in our broken shithole.
The implication of Yglesias’ position is basically that Democratic voters should shut up and swallow whatever No Labels’ corporate donors priorities are.
Fuck these people. "Look, there is no evidence we can find of fraud, because there is none. But you have to admit that our constantly pretending there *is* fraud is undermining voter confidence, so really, we should just give elections only to Republicans."
That's their position on democracy.
Economist had a "Threat from the Illiberal Left" cover back in 2021 as well.
Can't seem to find any threat of fascism covers, though. Weird!
99% of the stuff in this NYT Platner article would be viewed as a badge of honor by the right if he were running as a Republican, including and especially the "I would totally rape an intruder, but like, not in a gay way," story...
Which, it should hopefully be clear is not a defense of Platner.
The UK isn't perfect but it does have so many things I am envious of:
* Universal healthcare
* Taskmaster
* No Cenk Uygur allowed
