In the battle between a transparently phony, shameless fame/attention-seeking wannabe influencer/Kardashian and a bunch of knobs who think they have a hereditary right to rule over people, it's at least fun to watch both sides bleed out. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/web-series/n...
"Police are investigating whether negligence led to Ms Rodrigues de Freitas's death." Was it the ground, or staff forgetting to attach her to a safety rope before tossing her off a bridge, that caused her death? Police ask for patience while they figure it out. www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2...
Whoever keeps choosing Microsoft's default fonts should feel terrible about themselves.
(Aptos also sucks total ass)
Literally would rather use WingDings
Wrapped up our three weeks in the Finger Lakes with a visit from some dear friends and managed to only have to drive three cases of wine back to Chicago. High five.
Personally, at this point I won't even use slides for one-off speeches/presentations unless it's truly demanded. I find them so limiting and damaging to natural flow/authenticity. Shout out to all the teachers & profs who ARE immensely dedicated to the core role of teaching. You make a difference.
One of them, if you walked past his office an hour before class, you could hear rehearsing his lecture (that he always gave w/o notes). He was dedicated to his craft, and it paid dividends for students. (I took 5 of his courses; not sure I've ever learned as much from one person not my parent)
I had profs that didn't use slides and kept me fully engaged and even enraptured every class session. That was sadly not the norm, however.
I can't speak to what this particular prof does, but when a professor basically just reads their PowerPoint slides, it's less likely to be "phone addiction" or whatever, and more likely sheer boredom or "why am I even here."
