Finally out in @Cellcellpress!
Proteins with long IDRs are prone to misfolding during protein synthesis.
This is prevented by mRNA 3′UTRs that act as mRNA-based IDR chaperones.

Highly conserved mRNA 3′ UTRs act as co-translational chaperones for intrinsically
disordered regions (IDRs), preventing inter-domain misfolding and enabling biogenesis
of fully active proteins.www.cell.com
Check out the phenomenal PhD work by Katie Copley, a current postdoc in our lab @yaleneuro.bsky.social @yalerna.bsky.social. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Very importantly, one of the co-organisers @xrnchew.bsky.social is cycling to the meeting to raise awareness and funds for 'All things small and green' . Please join him or sponsor him!

We turn 25 today!
July 7th marks the 25th anniversary of the human genome going online and the start of the UCSC Genome Browser.
Then vs. now, we have 165k monthly visitors, and our codebase is over three million lines of code.

I'll be cycling from Exeter to Oxford (about 160 miles/260 km) - hopefully … Steven West needs your support for Cycling from Exeter to the 3' end (in Oxford)!
New method drop:
HCR-Proxy, a modular proximity labelling approach to profile local proteome composition around RNA at nanoscale, subcompartmental resolution. Thereby we resolved nested nucleolar layers and uncovered the grammar of spatial protein partitioning.
