just like how everyone should read at least one shojo manga, everyone should read at least one sports manga. it'll do you good, i promise
This is neat! There's going to be a Saint Seiya-themed section of the Japan Festival this week, with autographed illustrations from Masami Kurumada being sold & profits being donated to the GRAACC Children’s Hospital for cancer treatments in São Paulo, Brazil.
Online pre-payments are even accepted.

Is it likely that it was unpopular & therefore Tatsunoko possibly didn't try this kind of "dark" reimaging with its other classic heroes? Yeah, probably, but I highly doubt Tatsunoko isn't reprinting it solely due to poor reception.
If they had a good reason to reprint it then I'm sure they would.
We found a sealed copy of Heretic and I totally felt compelled to grab it for obvious reasons. This was such a good time.
This is definitely something that'll only appeal to the most hardcore of Masami Kurumada fans, but Ai no Jidai BEGIN is a neat look at the earliest days for Kurumada, back before he made his professional debut
Plus, Captain Uminari is actually pretty good, if rather simple, as a standalone one-shot
Friends, #weebwednesday is upon us once again! You know the drill - quote-post with your weebiest hot takes, nothing racist, nothing intentionally inflammatory, have fun with it ♥
Managed to find an image of the 2001 Gatchaman one-shot by Kazuhiro Kumagai (Samurai Gun), and it says right on the cover that it's only 33 pages long.
Considering how few Gatchaman manga there are I imagine that's why it's never been reprinted. Licensed IP manga can be a pain to deal with.
