Set in the titular New York nightclub, Copacabana (1947) is a comedy starring Groucho Marx and Carmen Miranda as Lionel Q. Devereaux and Carmen Navarro, a couple who have been strugglnig to make it as performers. Lionel decides to give up on the stage himself and focus on selling Carmen as a singer; he manages to convince the manager of the Copacabana, Steve Hunt (Steve Cochran), that he's an agent, but in the process lies about having a second client named Mademoiselle Fifi.
