Back at our ArtLab @utrechtuniversity.bsky.social with art history students. Working from a late 16th #French recipe, they recreated #sugar sculptures of #apples🍎. We even mixed some high-quality #saffron into the sugar, as was common at prestigious #courts: they leave behind bright yellow spots!👇

An unusual request in the name of archaeological science:
Would anyone happen to have a Shetland or Exmoor pony that wouldn’t mind sending some fur samples to me? We’re trying to compare a potentially preserved fur specimen but there’s (perhaps unsurprisingly) few sources on fur fibre diameters!
