I think that's a good way of thinking about it. It's a big change but software engineering has always been changing and the job of software engineer will survive. But it is weird that the thing that seemed so central to that role - writing code - is going.

The piece actually says "In many ways Mythos is only" etc. On lots of benchmarks Anthropic report it isn't that different, but on the cyber stuff they claim it is
It feels as though how we program is changing very quickly, even faster than other AI driven transformations. Hard to adjust in a university where lead times for major organisational or programme change take years
