my honestly radical belief is that I kinda think platner will be a reliable dem vote for nearly every single issue. I just don't see him being a Fetterman or a Sinema. I just don't see it imo and the comparisons feel stretched.

You could fix this problem very quickly by simply writing a law that says Social Security benefits will be paid out of the general fund. Doing so would have exactly zero impact on the federal budget. It would be a continuation of the status quo
