Sweden's Quick Reaction Alert scrambled JAS 39 Gripen fighters twice on Friday to intercept Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea, the Swedish Air Force has said, after detecting a Russian Su-24 and a Su-34 near Swedish airspace.
Eight new hangars are being built in the southern part of the air base. Their construction began at the end of April 2026.
At least five Su-57 are based at Akhtubinsk Air Base, and they regularly conduct combat sorties and test flights.
