Clearly communicating what you need is so important.
It takes time and effort to figure out. You need to consider your words and what they mean (try meditating, writing or just talking to kinky friends over a coffee).

subs outnumber Doms ~4:1
(you're going to need to put in work)
be respectful of Their time. think about your interests & limits; put your interests in your profile.
proactively reach out (respectfully). clearly communicate what you are looking for!
