It’s finally time for me to learn the difference between Roger Bacon and Francis Bacon. 1/5
I’ll start with Roger. Wikipedia says: “Roger Bacon ([c. 1219 – c. 1292]) […] was a medieval English polymath, philosopher, scientist, theologian and Franciscan friar who placed considerable emphasis on the study of nature through empiricism.” 2/5
“Francis Bacon […] ([1561 – 1626]) was an English philosopher and statesman […]. Bacon argued for the importance of natural philosophy, guided by the scientific method […]. Bacon has been called the father of empiricism.” 4/5
