I recently had to make a static photo gallery with #QuartoPub and used PhotoSwipe (which is neat!) so I decided to plugin-ize it to make it easier to use elsewhere, so behold, quarto-static-photo-gallery! andrewheiss.github.io/quarto-stati...

Is looping LLM 📊 output through a prompt asking it to do a better job really better (cheaper? faster?) than just doing a good job oneself? www.goodeyelabs.com/insights/the...
Nice to have. Now ask: how could this be even better than a searchable listing ?
I encoded Tufte's data visualization principles as a quality standard in Truesight, deployed it as an API, and pointed an AI agent at a real dataset. One instruction: keep improving until you pass.
But history tells us this was once the default in the time of Playfair. X was always time. You could use several Ys to show how wages were related to the price of wheat, annotations to show wars and monarchs…
I just ignore packges without a detailed README or vignette, no matter what they promise in the DESCRIPTION.
"Yankee Doodle" was a ditty (Roud 4501) that predated the American Revolution & was adapted by both British and Americans to mock one another. To mark the 250th anniversary, Trump birthday & #NoKings protest we've made a 2026 arrangement, where you can find the lyrics: themarshfamily.bandcamp.com 🎶

Did you know you can search for R packages by what they do, as opposed to just their names?
Look! 👉🏼 rwarehouse.netlify.app
@kylieainslie.bsky.social made The Warehouse for just this purpose. Send it to a new R programmer today ❤️ because it's the resource we all wish we'd had at some point

In May, 40 of the 323 new CRAN packages had no README file, no vignettes, and no URL linking to a repository 🤔
The #TidyTuesday community did something great with our data. Our data science team contributed two datasets for Week 20, exploring member #metadata contributions and content types.

Just how bad is a dual y-axis chart? I’m trying to explain that it’s one of the strongest rules in #dataviz but haven’t gotten further than the relative scaling is arbitrary & it implies correlation that may not be there.
