I ate mulberries from a tree growing in the shadow of the Tobin and already I can feel the dark power creeping into my blood and my teeth
normally not big on doing shirts outside of upcycled stuff but I think this might be fun
people think in this dichotomy wrt art careers where you either need to be chained to your tablet churning out commissions/working for a studio, or land a fulltime job in academics/galleries. I guarantee you'll be a lot happier teaching afterschool classes or w/e parttime and making art the rest.
I'm a fulltime artist but some weeks that involves cranking out a fully finished illustration, and some weeks that involves screenprinting posters, and some weeks that involves vending, and some weeks that involves painting walls and building pedestals at an art handling gig.
well folks time to lock in for my salò / tadc finale / a field in england triple feature
I have 5 apps on my phone with only one of which being social media, no photos or videos, and empty caches. got a message today letting me know my storage is so full that I can no longer send or receive texts. kirkenuenly what do you mean by that. look me in the eye and tell me what you mean by that
still a few years from 30 and have the benefit of living in a big city, but I've found that if you can find a part-time job where you work *with* art rather than actively having to create it (art handling, framing, print shops, teaching, etc) its a lot easier to keep the creativity flowing.
One of the kindest actions you can do this Pride Month is to donate to and purchase from the BIPOC LGBTQIA+ community. Not all, but many of them are in this starter pack 🧡
If you are BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ please put your donation links below and we'll share them.
