Trump is the anti-Nixon. Facing corruption charges, Nixon famously said his family was gifted "a little cocker spaniel... Black and white spotted. And our little girl... named it Checkers... we're gonna keep it." Whereas the current president will do quid pro quo for anybody EXCEPT his kids.

I want to be right. Nothing else will make me happy. That said, I will change my position when I'm proven wrong. Because I want to actually be right.

Had quite major neck surgery last week and just want to scream into the void. Everything hurts. We are about to enter day three of my apartment having no water thanks to some mysterious leak. Right now, I have very dire thoughts.
"Explain your @" Fine. I'm an adjunct at a state university, so I'm not putting my name here. I'm disabled and tired and don't have the energy to fight some ideologue getting mad because I said Trump or Jesus or DEI in class and then they find I have Opinions.
And if it's not clear, I'm grumpy.

I've been doing French on Duolingo. Today in my actual life, I experienced a REALLY bad day of early medical bureaucracy followed by an excruciating medical test that redefined my 10 on the 1-10 pain scale--for over an hour, sustained. I come home, sleep it off, and open Duolingo. French RP.
