Whole thread. But this part is esp telling in light of the whole “we profs have to use it and teach them to use it”, cuz “employees of the future!” As seen here, it’s *designed to be easy to use*, so easy in fact that it’s addictive. Better to give them *reasons* and *help* in saying no.

I wish I could tell you the responses thrummed with defiance. Instead, some read like substance abuse testimonies. A student whose use of AI grew until AI "wrote" all assignments sophomore fall. Got caught. Crushed by shame. Swore it off. But it's creeping back, & they don't know how to stop. 3/
