Here's some quick thoughts on something I've been thinking about for a while: One of the books that most influenced me about cognitive science was The Modularity of Mind by Jerry Fodor (1983). (1/N)
Right, time for a social media break. Not sure how long. See you on the other side (or maybe not, who knows). Might drop back to post new papers.
I think the most disappointing aspect of this for me is not only that it's a policy that will lead to huge (and likely biased) penalties for innocent researchers, but that it shows that arXiv directors have so little respect for preprints and don't see them as a viable path for science on their own.
The comments here... As much as I hate AI slope, I find it rather scary how fast the angry crowd would happily scrap all principles of justice when the cause is right. Collective sanction with no proper investigation to establish responsibilities, I'm not sure about that.
