GOAT did the impossible and me care about sports. Sure, I had logical knowledge that people love getting together to watch sports, but GOAT *showed* me, made me feeeel it. I'm still not "into" sports, but my appreciation for watching sports as a communal activity has expanded because of this movie.
Sure, I don’t think it’s perfect. Story could’ve used tightening up introducing and following through emotional beats. Sometimes characters act a certain way because time passed in-universe, but we didn’t see what they went through.
Is that a deal breaker? For me, nawww. This movie was awesome.

Will Harris is a remarkable protagonist. His journey is not concerned with him needing to become the best at his sport. He’s already very skilled, but his background and social class denied him the opportunity to play. He needed people in authority to believe in him. He already believed himself.
His physical size!!! Denied him the opportunity. He was “discovered.”
I’m glad he had such a strong support system, even if the Bigs never believed in him. He had friends and neighbors and a whole community who saw him through the worst of times.
I need y’all to know I love this movie. Oh my god GOAT was incredible. #TribLikesStuff
I love Will Harris. What an amazing protagonist. I don’t have enough character limit to talk about it all yet. This is Jett and Will’s story together. This movie roused ferocious emotions in me.
